40 Years Too Long

I was 28 at the time I started getting weak and falling.

A medical mystery

All the doctors I saw had no idea of what was wrong. The first doctor I went to said it was all in my head. I had to visit about four doctors who all gave me the run around until I finally found a doctor that had an idea of what it was and he was a GP.

40 years of Mestinon

He prescribed me Mestinon and I was on that for over 40 years. Then it quit working!

The doctor I was going to never did follow-up blood work but he said the numbers were off the chart from the initial blood test, so much so that I shouldn't have been able to walk.

I had a friend with MG and his numbers were really low, and then he died.

Is it remission?

About a year ago went to another doctor to have the blood work redone, and it came back with no numbers. So she said it was gone. I didn't know that the numbers would go away and just go into remission.

So now my husband thinks I faked it, and over those 40 years, I lost all my family members, thinking I was a fake. I have experienced depression and a feeling of uselessness.

In disbelief

Now I'm 71, have lost most of my life, and my children's life. It's been hard to keep going.
