Childhood Memories

Hello all. I am 40 years old and have had MG since 1989, when I was 6 years old. I was the youngest case of MG to be diagnosed in my state at that time. My medical team was fairly new to medicine and it took several of them working on me at once. I can remember having to have my brother to hold my hand for me to be able to walk. I also remember having to lift my head up on order to see through my eyelids. I never learned childhood things like riding a bike or skating because of MG.

  1. I was 9, 11 when I had thymectomy, 39 now. The struggle is very real still. My parents used to yell at me when I would talk funny(slurred speech was maybe my 1st symptom then my eyes). I never had limb weakness until last 5 years. But I also haven't been treating my MG for the last 5 years. I guess I'm hard headed which isn't good with MG! But my symptoms are sometimes easier to deal with then 30 pills a day getting my liver function tested monthly and the side effects of the medications!! It always wins always takes control. I am really curious about these new treatments, but not hopeful
