Mestinon causing too frequent bowel movements.

Does anyone else have this problem and is there a work around? I am currently taking half of a 60 mg three times a day to moderate the side effects.

  1. .... That is a common problem with mestinon for many of us.... for many your body has to adjust!!

    1. Thanks! Right now I am trying to get rid of some bad life choices that also contribute to the problem. I have stopped drinking (I love a couple of drinks in the evening after work to unwind!). I have stopped drinking coffee and energy drinks due to the caffeine. And the worst is I have given up spicy food which I dearly love. All of those contribute. The Imodium AD after my morning call of nature has helped keep me from going back. Perhaps MG might be a blessing in disguise as it is motivating me to take better care of myself.

  2. Thanks. I had stopped taking it but I am trying again. The problem is that most days my job requires travel to customer sites. Here in South Dakota there are lots of wide open spaces and it can be miles and miles between gas stations and rest stops. I might try using Imodium AD for a bit until I develop more tolerance for Mestinon.

    1. yes I have had a problem. The benefits of the medication is worth it. Things are getting better. Most of the time
