Test results

I’ve read that even low-level ACHR test results which labs record as a negative result should equate to an MG diagnosis (I assume especially if there are symptoms), since normal blood has no antibodies present. Can someone please tell me where this contradictory information comes from, as in a reputable source? A link or document would also be helpful. I’d like to share it with a doctor. 😀

  1. Hi I understand how this can be confusing! Some individuals who lack detectable antibodies fall under what is called seronegative MG. I shared more information on the topic here - https://myasthenia-gravis.com/seronegative. Approximately 20% of individuals with MG do not have the AChR antibodies. I also shared information on blood tests that are commonly used in diagnosing MG and the 3 main antibodies that are connected to MG - https://myasthenia-gravis.com/blood-tests. I hope this information is helpful. Please reach out if we can help locate any other info. Kindly, Jessica (Team Member)
