Hi there I was diagnosed with mg in early 2020. Since then I have experienced everything one could expect with mg including a myasthenia crisis. A ct scan revealed a thymoma on my thymus gland. I had a thymectomy which was followed by five weeks of radio therapy as the thymoma was a suspicious mass. I have a follow up ct scan every six months and all scans have been clear. I have now been in remission for four years with no apparent symptoms and am back in the gym four days a week. A recent report from Italy suggested that people over 65 who have a thymectomy showed a significant improvement in their condition that led to remission. The thymus gland plays a significant part in the immune system and removing it and a thymoma has led to a remarkable improvement in my condition.
