Heart Issues

I am wondering if anyone else with MG has experienced any heart related issues. Recently my doctor found an abnormality in my EKG relating to electrical conductivity. This wasn't there before MG and just wondering if it is related or maybe just because I am getting older (67). Thanks for reading.

  1. I have POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome) and MG. When MG symptoms worsen, so do POTS symptoms

    1. Thank you for these references. I was diagnosed with a prolonged Q-T interval in the early 1990's. This is a good 20 years after being diagnosed with double vision. Let's just call it a missed opportunity for a relatively early diagnosis. I now have intermittent runs of atrial fibulation and sinus tachycardia.
I could add on with other instances of medical problems I developed that have been associated with gMG but it would take up.too much space.
How can we fight for better medical education about the insidious nature of gMG to increase the rate of early diagnosis?

      1. I agree, to me it seems most doctors really don't have an understanding of what Gmg is and kind of brush it off. Even my cardiologist treated it as a non issue. We have to be our own advocate.

    2. Please beware of doctors who work with the heart and know nothing about MG!! Three weeks after my husband was given a pace maker for his heart, he died. This was his third surgery (all three were questionable) in twelve months, all because doctors knew little or nothing about MG.

      1. my sincere condolences on the passing of your husband💙. Thinking of you, Julie (team member)

    3. I used to experience a lot of dysautonomia when I was at my worst. I feel for you!
