I’ve been recently been diagnosed with MG and I am overwhelmed.

I never think I would taking the medicine prescribed. I feel I am having Chemotherapy and the side effects scare me.

  1. Thank you. I wasn’t sleeping and experienced mood swings but the doctor has been helping me with this.

    1. You are not alone. Yes, this can be and is scary. But keep looking for those of us that have been through it. You will find some incourageing people who have been through it and really want to help. I think most of the meds out there for mg their benefits far out weight any side effects.

      1. thank you for the encouragement. It’s just the getting use to the new routine and the effects the medication has on me. It’s the unknown, I’ve never experienced anything like this. Thank you

    2. I have been getting treatments since Sept 10. Hi dose Prednisone was the worst, and am getting weaned off it. Have vyvgart infusions right now, stop in 6 months, and I will be on mycophenolate 2000 mg per day. Had it before, it was stopped because some doctor thought I had endocarditis. My heart doctor thought he was wrong but had to take antibiotic infusions for 35 days because of this idiot. My wife thought I was having a heart attack and called the ambulance, but it was just because of all the trips to the hospital I was so out of shape a little exercise made my heart pound. The doctors at the hospital had to find something and got me on those antibiotics and seizure meds, and thought I was having withdrawl from illegal drugs, but it was all the side effects from prednisone.

      1. Please don't be scared. It will get better. Hang in there. The early months of treatment are the worst. But the MG drugs will moderate your symptoms, and the side effects will be tolerable. Trust me. In the beginning I asked my doctor for Xanax, which really helped with my anxiety. Feeling frightened and anxious only makes MG worse.
