Myasthenia gravis problem

Self at 69, In October 2023, noticed that my right eye lid has closed half and does not open After diagnosis my eye nerve to musle contact has become weak. Dr has prescribed 4 doses of pyridostigmine tablet every day. I continue to take it. But I have to go to urinal many times than before. My bladder gets filled very fast feeling

  1. From my view , I've read a dozen articles on new meds comparing everything I'm sticking with the pyridostigmine, and one survey said 65% of mg patience are still taking it. My neurologist told me from the start If I'm sleeping or just resting I don't need the pill in my system , that rest was the best treatment. Yes I'm in Clermont Fl so this time a year I'm a prisoner in my own home, I take a 10 mile ride on my mobility scooter at least 5 days a week in the early morning hours form 2am
to 4am to get outside and some fresh air

  2. Hey there! I'm really sorry to hear about your health concerns. It sounds like you're dealing with some challenging symptoms. It's good that you're staying on top of your treatment plan by taking the prescribed medication. Have you discussed other MG treatment options with your doctor? https://myasthenia-gravis.com/treatment. Immunosuppressants and biologics tend to have fewer reports of uncomfortable short-term side effects compared to pyridostigmine (mestinon) and prednisone. Mestinon can certainly be associated with numerous uncomfortable side-effects, including urinary issues. Here is an article with tips I think you may be interested in: https://myasthenia-gravis.com/living/urinary-incontinence-solutions. Wishing you all the best!
