Sleep hallucinations

I was diagnosed with MG back in 2016. I’ve had a thymectomy and I’ve been on IVIG infusion ever since. I know that there are several side effects from MG. I’ve recently begun to experience sleep hallucinations and I was wondering if any anyone else has experienced this.

  1. Hey there! Juliana already commented the most important note that you should contact your doctor as soon as possible if you have yet to. Myasthenia gravis and treatments are often associated with severe sleep deprivation or poor quality of sleep, which can lead to unusual sleep patterns, including hallucinations as you're experiencing. Unusual symptoms can be expected when combining multiple medicines. However, side effects can also be potentially dangerous, so your doctor must be well aware of updates, including any changes.

As Juliana also suggested, asking a pharmacist would be an excellent second opinion and temporarily answer if your doctor is slow to get back to you. Suppose you do not have a consistent local pharmacist. In that case, one could potentially help create a relationship, trust, and familiarity that can significantly help us with MG. - Jodi, Myasthenia-Gravis.Com Team Member

    1. Whenever you have unusual symptoms you should consult your doctor. Another avenue is to provide your pharmacist with a complete list of the drugs that you are taking and ask if any of them have rare side effects. For example, prednisone can affect sleep patterns. Myasthenia gravis has very different effects in different people, so we must always be cautious. Hope you find answers. Juliana (Myasthenia-gravis.com team).
