Does anyone have an issue with floaters

I recently went the opticians because I suddenly had flashing lights and floaters in both my eyes,I was told it was a vitreous detachment due to age(I'm 72) and no treatment needed I'm very upset because I am unable to drive and although I have been told by my doctor that this is not due to myasthenia gravis I just wondered if any of you have had these symptoms?

  1. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this. Floaters and flashes are common with posterior vitreous detachment, especially at your age, and usually don’t need treatment. When we saw Dr. Stuart Terry, he explained the warning signs to watch for, like sudden increases in floaters or a curtain-like shadow, and stressed regular check-ups. You’re definitely not alone; many people experience this.

  2. Yes...they are annoying....in the summer, I often think they are little bugs....but as health issues go...eye floayers, light sparks, tinnitus...."Let it Go "..
Bigger monsters are out their...these miniscule beasts....buy a fly swatter

  3. I have had floaters forprobably 40 years or so. I have just gotten used to them. After all this time my brain just sort of ignores them

  4. I've had floaters for probably a couple of decades (I'm 72). I've had MG for 6 years, currently in a state of remission. I had cataract surgery a couple of months ago and noticed an uptick in floaters immediately after surgery. They are still tolerable but slowly getting worse; I can still drive but floaters are slowly becoming a prominent feature of my vision. I'm familiar with laser treatment, but the success rate seems questionable at this time. I hope my vision remains viable until I reach an age when it doesn't matter any more.
