Eating with MG

I eat in smaller bites than I used to do. Cut up food in smaller pieces and take smaller bites. It helps when I have trouble swallowing, It does not prevent swallowing problems but helps. Usually if I have water with me, I can "wash" the small pieces down.

  1. I go thru all the phases of dysphasia, between my treatment cycles. I often revert back to nectar and pureed foods until my next treatment. It is an awful thing to manage. I try to keep thick and easy beverages on hand as well as soups, applesauce, tuna salads

    1. It’s great to hear you’re finding helpful ways to manage your eating! Swallowing and choking is a very alarming situation to experience, and I am glad that taking smaller bites is making a difference for you. Wishing you a wonderful new year filled with good health and happiness!
