Facial swelling and throat closure

I've been dealing with MG for about ten years. From extreme fatigue, drooling, drooping of my eyes and vision issues. This last exacerbation affected my throat , it closed cutting off my breathing. I was immediately itibated and kept sedated for 7 days until the swelling subsided. Imagine waking up Dr's nurses, loved ones around your bed....two weeks out of the hospital and it's still hard to talk about. Know your body , MG out breaks go 0 to 100 real quick.

  1. No I don't its like I'm always reeling back on my heels. I'm moving to lynnwood Wa this month. I'm definitely open to any and all suggestions that will improve my quality of life. What is it that you do ?.... up till this point I've been existing in life and it's been a horrible decade 😪

    1. omg thank you for all the leg work..definitely gonna attend alot of the activities...I was just saying to myself to find the local American legion to join...You so rock!!!

  2. I'm so sorry to hear that. Do you know what caused the flare up specifically? I've had MG going on 12 years now and I've never had to be intubated. The only time I was intubated is when I had my thymectomy and that was a horrible feeling. I could only imagine what that must have felt like to you. I hope you are doing better now. - Jazmin (team member)

    1. I have a family member that takes gabapentin. Normally makes her super drowsy. I used to get gamunex when I first learned I had MG. I did 1 session for 5 days straight and had a really bad reaction and got dangerouly ill. Now I get gammagard every 4 weeks which only gives me migraines. Did you have joint pain and muscle spasms before after your diagnosis? - Jazmin (team member)

    2. no joint pain at all , until this yr. Now all my joint hurt mainly my knees and hips , I'm in a constant stage of stretching.

  3. I can imagine how frightening that experience must have been for you. My heart goes out to you. How have you been feeling this week? I hope it has been kind to you. Hugs, Jessica, MG Team Member
