Birth Control and Myasthenia Gravis

Have you been on birth control for the entire time you had MG, or did you stop or start birth control while having MG?

How does birth control affect your MG symptoms? Did coming off of it or starting it help or worsen your MG symptoms?

  1. If it helps, I just placed a story about me and the Mirena IUD that helps me a lot. Maybe this information is helpfull?

    1. Hi Jodi!
It's been a while since I last replied time really flies, haha.

I actually use the same birth control now as I did before my diagnosis. So far, I haven’t noticed any side effects from it.

In fact, things tend to get worse if I don’t take it. Without it, my periods are so heavy and painful that I can’t even walk sometimes — it really triggers more complications with my myasthenia gravis.
