How has coping with your MG and accommodating been going this holiday season?

How has coping with your MG and accommodating been going this holiday season?

Do you plan to take New Year's Eve easy or have plans for a party or event? How are you anticipating it? Do you feel good or uneasy about even more going on this holiday season?

How can you realign yourself after all the hustle and bustle to get your head in a good mental space to start the new year?

  1. Thanks Abby! We did have a good Christmas. Our daughter was in, and we were able to relax, exchange gifts, prepare our feast! The stress was there. But I just kept keeping on. And the stress eased up.

    1. Thank you Abby! I appreciate your kind words. My wife and I live in Redford, MI. We have a daughter who lives and works in Howell, MI. She'll be over for Christmas!
I liked that article from the lady who stopped celebrating Christmas, and started thinking about her own mental health.
      Thank you again Abby!

      1. Dealing with job changes and uncertainty around insurance can be incredibly overwhelming, especially during the holiday season. It's completely understandable that you and your wife are feeling stressed right now, and I want to express my deepest compassion for both of you. How have you been healing after your thymectomy surgery? Have you noticed any changes in your symptoms? I hope you enjoyed your visit with your daughter for Christmas. It's refreshing to have a perspective that even holiday traditions can be adjusted to make life easier or more accommodating for us, particularly during this hectic time of year. Have you considered any changes to your traditions that you plan to implement in the future, or have you already made some adjustments?

    2. I had to leave my job when my diagnosis was confirmed:Mg!
I couldn't do my job any more, climb ladders, fix things, work with tools. I was in the hospital for a month and a half. Had the surgery done on the thymus.
I got word from work h.r. that they have to let me go. I've been away too long. I lost my insurance! My wife and I are scrambling now to get insurance. My wife is busting her butt on the phone talking to h.r. other insurance people. I'm not allowed to drive, climb stairs,or ladders. So yes the holidays are really stressing me out.

      1. I'm so sorry to hear that you lost your insurance and that all of these stressors are adding up. An MG diagnosis can lead to so many unexpected twists and turns; during this time of year managing all of it can feel so overwhelming. I hope you're able to find some brief moments of ease and comfort. Best, Abby (Team Member).
