HUSK MG

I accompanied my friend to a neurologist. Because of slurred speech and weak facial muscles he tested her for the Musk type of MG. The test was negative for MUSK as was the acetylcholine receptor. Have any of you been diagnosed with MG and not tested positive in those blood tests? She is terrified it is ALS. Thank you.
PS I have had ocular MG since 1995 intermittently but it is manageable for the most part. Prednisone has done a number on my body though. Thank you.

  1. Hi , hopefully others will weigh in with their experience soon. In the meantime, I included an article on MG antibodies - https://myasthenia-gravis.com/clinical/understanding-antibodies. Based on current research there are some individuals who do not possess any antibodies. I hope your friend's medical team can get to the root cause soon and help find a proper treatment plan for her. Wishing you both well. Kindly, Jessica, Team Member
