MG and weight loss medication

If you have MG, are there risks taking the popular drugs for weight loss and A1C like Ozempic, Mounjaro, etc?

  1. Try to keep your weight on the low side of normal for you.....extra useless weight requires extra Oxygen to keep all that fat alive!....if you can't eat without choking, go for a feeding tube and liquid like ISOSOURCE.....choking on food will lead to Aspirated Pneumonia, and you will bw in Big Trouble! As a male now 88 yrs old living with severe MG since age 33, I consider Mestinon Quick, ExRel, or Syrup, to be an Obsolete Drug....CellCept seems to be the Hi Dollar winner at the present ti,me but will require constant use for about 4 to 6 months for results.....there are a few new Hi $$$ IV drugs now available but often show short lived or No results when tried on me.....Plasma Exchange has pulled me out of a severe crisis twice in the last 6 years.....one time on a ventilator for 11 days.....I was on a feeding tube for 12 years at one point.....you must learn to hang in there and be a winner .....never give up....my brain is still working well so Life is Good!...

    1. Hello we appreciate you reaching out. If you haven't already, we would recommend reaching out to your physician about this. As they know your medical history and could offer you the best advice. Wishing you well. -Jessica (Team Member)
