Stomach nausea and pain

My husband was diagnosed with MG about 6 months ago and since then he's had problems with his stomach with nausea and pain could this be a side effect from his meds or possibly a flare up from the MG disease?

  1. I'm really not sure. I'm sorry that he's bothered with the stomach issues and pain. Hoping your doctor can give you some good advice

      1. This is likely a medicine side effect but could be more serious. I would definitely get tests done if you have yet to. What medicines is your husband on? Several MG treatments cause stomach nausea and ulcers. MG itself would not be causing stomach problems.

Be careful if you see a gastroenterologist. They are often unfamiliar with MG and can make the critical mistake of diagnosing you with something that could trigger the MG. I had a gastroenterologist try to prescribe me magnesium which is highly advised against with MG. Here is a pdf to help always check if medications are risky for MG, http://nebula.wsimg.com/903ebe2c701eb4e72e3211dc9fb9064e?AccessKeyId=7F50FBE19A111D19DDAC&disposition=0&alloworigin=1.

        1. The steroids and Mestinon have caused nausea for me. Taking them with a few crackers or a small meal has helped. I haven't experienced pain. It's probably best to ask your doctor. I hope he feels better soon. God bless you as you care for him.

          1. he isn't on Mestinon any longer his Dr switched him to Imuran generic for Azathioprine 4x daily so I was just wondering what f his stomach issues could be caused by the disease or something else
