vyvgart vs IVIG

Just wondering whatever anyone can share--from personal knowledge--about vvgart and IMIG ... especially success rates and side affects. I have just been told about IVIG and I saw an ad for vyvgart.

My doctor says IVIG starts with some lab work.

Thanks,

    1. Analysis

Are you aware of any ‘studies’ … where x-number of MG hosts have been contacted and invited to share their MG and personal data (age, height, key life style, living region, health, etc.) and details of their MG, and what courses of action they have had; especially the level of MG related experience/s of their doctor.

One of the views would be by grouping similar MG stories for any commonalities.

Another aspect of a study would be lab work to determine an individual's bodily make up and then cross referencing with others with similar body makeup.

Many years ago I assumed: If I can think it, it is already done, or in process, thus there must be many studies done and so what is available to learn from?

Sorry, I did not know where to look within M-G.com to see if any studies have already been posted.

      Thank you.

      1. I received IVIG, during my 1st crisis. By the third day there were no results, and I was getting worse. I was going to get plasma pheresis, but situation worsened and was intubated before I could get plasma pheresis. After my 2nd crisis, month after the first I start Vyvgrt. Results were immediate.

I am not sure what determines what is best for any particular person, it seems to be trial and error. I have come across a lot of stories of people doing well with IVIG and their medication. In my case it did not work, plasma pheresis worked for 7 days, before symptoms kicked in again.

Vyvgrt seems to work well for 14 days after a session, then symptoms kick in again. I have been doing Vyvgrt since July. When Vyvgrt seems to run it course, I feel discomfort in legs, arms, hands, shoulders and neck. I have not had problems with my eye lid drooping and my jaw not working correctly and chewing (both which happened between 1st and 2nd crisis). The worse that has happened, is after the last session, about 14 days later, I have difficulty breathing and diaphragm gets sore. That last for 5 to 7 days. About 25 days after I start having difficulty breathing and moving around, causing me to go back to a walker. I still take my medication, in the same quantity before the Vyvgrt treatments began.

        1. I've read, and reread your post ... thank you for sharing ... helpful in my decision making process

      2. Thanks again!
