Change in Symptoms

Hello. I have generalized MG for the past 1 1/2 years. For the past 2 months, I get overheated VERY easily from just getting dressed in the morning to walking into my office. I basically sweat more than usual and then lose all energy, similar to when I have MG episodes and had no energy. Has anyone else experiences this? So far, we keep upping my predisone and will do more physical therapy but I am frustrated.

  1. ALWAYS stay air conditioned as much as possible, and keep as many frozen snacks as possible on your person at all times. I've found that the Popsicles like kool-aid in the slender plastic sleeves work best, and those linen bags that they use to make homemade ice packs in the hospital work best for carrying huge numbers of said Popsicles (up to 6) with somewhat minimal freeze lossage.

Also, if your a woman still going through your menstruation, PLEASE get rid of "auntie flow" as quickly as possible if you can because the internal temperature increases connected with your cycle can be ABSOLUTELY UNBEARABLE. Real talk 👄

    1. Happens to me regularly with seasonal and atmospheric changes. Figure out the best way to cope & adjust accordingly, but whatever you do make them find another way that doesn't increase prednisone dosage. Healthwise and with regards to future possible further complications, that route is EXTREMELY WAY TOO EXPENSIVE. I speak from experience. So, PLEASE, PLEASE learn from my bad experience and the same of others.

      1. Heat stress is a very common MG symptom, one I also suffer from and one for which there is no good solution. There are several articles and chats on this website regarding issues with heat and cold. Just do a search. Heat worsens the neuromuscular transmission issues that characterize MG. On hot days I go from air-conditioned house to air-conditioned car as quickly as possible. I once walked into a hot garage (maybe 110 degrees) and barely had the energy to walk back out. It's nothing to fool with. At 1 1/2 years, you are still in the early stages of MG and the stages that I think are the worse. It will get better when you get your meds right, the disease stabilized, and the symptoms well understood.

        1. I'm just into this over a year.
And i'm so thankful to read that the sweating business is related to.MG
I have already been through menopause, and this sweating is worse than anything I ever experienced at that time of my life.
Currently i'm on prednisone and pryidostigmime which I take once every four hours because it has given me bad diarrhea. Still waiting for approval for a new medication. It's been very difficult
