Does IVIG work?

Hello,

I have generalized MG confirmed by blood work at age 35. Prednisone made me feel better but I stopped taking it after reading how it can destroy your body (not something I want at age 35). I then did IVIG but didn't have much success in feeling better. Next is Vyvgart.

Has anyone ever seen any studies or stats indicating what percent of MG patients achieve a positive outcome after taking IVIG? Do 80% feel better, 20%, or what? Trying to understand how common it is for IVIG to have no effect.

  1. Hi I was first diagnosed with MG at age 17 and I'm 28 now. I've been on Prednisone since I got diagnosed. First starting at a high dose (120mg) to now only taking10mg daily. I get my kidneys and liver check periodically since that is normally a concern when taking prednisone and all my results come back normal.

As for IVIG there are different kinds of IVIG you may have to find one that works for you. As for me I find it to be affective but it's good to keep in mind that the results may not happen instantly especially if you're just starting with treatment. You'll have to go through a few sessions to see results. You may have to do a 5 day treatment or go every 3 months for 1 treatment. It depends on the severity of the state that you're in. what's
