Covid and Paxlovid

Hi just wondering if anyone has taken Paxlovid for Covid? Paxlovid is an anti viral treatment which has FDA emergency use authorization.
I was given this after testing positive for Covid several weeks ago and ended up in the emergency room for irregular heart beats. It was like taking 100mg of Predisone. High blood pressure and severe agitation as well. Just curious if it was a reaction to the combination of Mestinon.

  1. So sorry that you have COVID on top of MG. Just wanted to my sympathy.
Hope you are on the mend. Thank you for keeping us updated on this medication.

    1. I reported it to both Pfizer and the FDA as it is only available for emergency use by the FDA. Interestingly Pfizer came back with a response that had nothing to do with my complaint or even the correct product. I have filed a second complaint. I feel it is important for others to understand the dangers of products like this. I was given the prescription at 7pm on a Friday and I tried to get information about it before taking it because I have had several severe reactions from prescribed meds in the past sending me to the ER..
Even the people at Pfizer could not answer any questions for me not could the pharmacy at Walmart one of the few place licensed to sell it. The Pfizer number is not staffed on weekends which I find irresponsible on their part and the emergency numbers knew nothing about the product.
Quite frankly I don't think anyone knows anything about this drug cocktail at this point.

      1. Hello I'm sorry you got Covid and I hope you are cured from it. I personally didnt get Paxlovid when I had covid. When I was in the hospital the doctor I saw recommended it but also said he didnt think it was necessary for me to get it. Have you contacted your primary or neurologist to see if the 2 of them combined caused you to have an irregular heart beat. The medication alone can cause muscle aches and increased blood pressure, definitely talk to you doctor about it. - Jazmin (team member)
