Do you experience worse MG symptoms during menstruation (your period)?

During the menstruation phase of your menstrual cycle (period), do you experience aggravated MG symptoms?

Does anything provide you some relief?

  1. This is one of the bright spots of being in menopause. Not having periods to add to the distress of MG. I pray for you ladies who have to go through this still.

    1. I am planning on starting a menopause and MG discussion. Have you had any triggering of MG symptoms that you suspect to correlate to menopause/menopause symptoms?

  2. Two to three days before due on and the first two to three days of period are worst MG wise , weakness and fatigue is much worse , pyridostigmine requirements much higher. Then everything settles for about 15 days slowly worsening in a predictable fashion towards the beginning of my period again. I found when I had progesterone implant, I was much worse.

Nothing really helps other than more medication during that period and general advice for any mg symptom and general advice for anyone who has a period. Nothing special sadly. I try to take it easy, warm baths/showers if I know I can just collapse in bed afterwards, some comfort food and things that I enjoy symptom dependent. Heat packs for period pain. Painkillers where able. Try not to take too much on, exercise where tolerable/manageable and errm..... Chocolate : )
