How do you cope with fatigue?

Studies show that fatigue can have major effects in people with autoimmune diseases like MG.

  1. When I was first diagnosed in the 1980's my neurologist suggested going to a neuropsychologist. I was very fortunate to get a great doctor at Boston University Medical who was very thorough in learning about me and what caused me stress. He even hypnotized me which was an amazing experience that I still remember the entire event and feeling. As he explained it's not the crap you see on tv but he put me into a complete relaxed state and then used things I like to do to put me rapidly into a stressful situation. (Going down a mountain on an out of control sled) He then put me back into a relaxed state. (Walking through the woods to a beach and feeling the warm sand) The purpose was to teach me to learn the feeling of stressed out muscles and how to relax them. He repeated this over several visits and signed me up for biofeedback training which really helped me learn how to relax all my muscles in just a couple of minutes. This was a truly amazing experience and helps me to this day. You can find recordings for this on the internet I'm sure. I practice this in a massage chair now. A lot of people use Yoga or meditation to do this.
