Do You Experience Muscle Spasms and Cramping?

As we know, there are many symptoms associated with myasthenia gravis, and the severity of those symptoms vary from person to person. With that being said, do you experience muscle spasms and cramping? If so, how do you cope with these symptoms? Have you found certain coping mechanisms (e.g. massage, leg air compression massagers, heat therapy) to be helpful?

  1. I get cramping of a tendon or muscle right behind my knee. I have to straighten my leg to keep it from returning. I use magnesium lotion and that stops it. If I remember input it on before bed as a preventative. I also have cramping in my feet when I sit to go to the ladies room. I increased my whole food vitamin intake which has significantly decreased the frequency. Super thankful. I also cramp when I exercise which wasn’t a problem before. If I stretch my legs and hamstrings before, it helps (This may be due to my overall decrease in activity and exercise which I’m now able to work on. I like all the previous posts and replies.
    Thank you.

    1. I suffered badly with cramps in my feet and ankles and shaking under my skin but it didn't show. All of it stopped when I stopped taking mestonin. It's is now nearly 2 years since I stopped and I have not had those problems

      1. I too swear by pickle juice, just a couple sips and you're good to go, and that's usually back to bed because after retiring for the night is when it usually happens. I also drink electrolytes daily and that, it seems should be helpful as well. I have blamed the Mestinon on this phenomenon but it could be just disease related too. Whatever the reason, its the relief that's most important!

        1. Dill pickle juice works wonders I swear by it
