Knee Pain

Do you experience knee pain or discomfort?

Knee pain, while not one of the most commonly reported symptoms of myasthenia gravis (MG), can occur due to the condition's impact on muscle strength. MG can lead to fatigue and weakness, which may result in discomfort or pain in various joints, including the knees. The weakness associated with MG can make it challenging to properly support the joints, potentially leading to strain and discomfort over time. Additionally, individuals with MG might experience other musculoskeletal issues, such as arthritis or overuse injuries, that can also cause knee pain. Changes in activity levels due to fatigue or weakness can lead to muscle imbalances, further contributing to knee discomfort.

  1. I have severe knee pain in one leg. PT gave me exercises to improve muscle on outside of knee. Just after a few days I could feel some relief. I believe , for me, that physical therapy for MG has really helped. It seems like there's a different area we work on almost every week. We manage to give me more strength to do things other than just maintain daily needs.

    1. It's great to hear that you're experiencing relief from your knee pain! It sounds like your physical therapy is really tailored to your needs, which is important. Being able to strengthen your muscles and improve your overall functionality is a significant step forward. Do you have a favorite exercise that you enjoy doing?
