Have you had complications or issues arise during or after a PLEX (plasma exchange/plasmapheresis) or IVIG (intravenous immunoglobulin injection) treatment?
Jazmin Clayton Let's see, I've had several adverse effects after PLEX treatments.
1)osmotic diuresis (increased urination) & osmotic diarrhea from the albumin replacement fluid.
2) hypotension (low blood pressure) despite ml:ml fluid replacement.
3) low potassium & magnesium due to #2 and plasma removal
4) depleted fibrinogen (needed for blood clotting 5) fall with excessive bleeding due to low blood pressure & decreased fibrinogen. If PLEX wasn't the only treatment that temporarily decreases my symptoms, I wouldn't do it every 3 weeks. I've had no problems with IvIG which I get twice a month.

When I get IVIG injections I typically get horrible migraines. Unless I go to the ER due to the pain, I normally cry and moan in agony. Almost immediately after the treatment my body aches. Does anyone experience that? - Jazmin (MG team member)
