Childhood Myasthenia Gravis and Adult Relapse

I definitely need some help. I was diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis (MG) when I was two years old (circa 1970).

The main symptom I recall was severe ocular MG: my right eyelid was completely closed from the time I was two until I was eight. I spent many of those years in and out of hospitals. When my eye finally opened, the doctors involved considered it a "miracle." While I regained function, I am now legally blind in that eye.

I am now 55, and as I get older, I am experiencing significant muscle issues, including widespread weakness and constant exhaustion/fatigue. This pain and weakness is life-altering at this point.

My questions are:

1. Is there a possibility that my MG is coming out of remission?

2. Can childhood MG truly go into remission?

My mother has actually told me I "faked all of this" and was never sick, which has made this struggle even harder. About 15 years ago, a doctor ran a test looking for a "gene" and said the result was negative.

I am desperate for answers and have no idea who else to turn to. Any advice or direction you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
