Myasthenia Gravis Community Advocate Stefani Shea-AkersStefanie Shea-Akers lives with her husband of 20 years and two cats in central California. She has BA and MA degrees in English and was an English professor before she had to leave her academic career after getting a refractory form of myasthenia gravis as well as dysautonomia.

She is a watercolor artist, musician, and a politics nerd and spends much of her time listening to her vinyl record collection. She has been doing online patient advocacy for over a decade and writes about her experience and knowledge to help raise awareness and empower other patients.
