My Medication Story and Question
To be brief: as I have already submitted my whole MG story previously. When I was diagnosed with MG (4 1/2 years ago) my Neurosurgeon immediately prescribed me 10 x Prednisolone 5 mg tablets once a day after breakfast, along with 1 x Mestinon 60 mg tablet, 3x per day after meals. (I live in Bangkok.) These 2 medications totally agreed with me and I was 99% better within 3 days.
He also - during our first few bi-monthly appointments - tried me on various types of Proton pump inhibitors, but they all made me nauseous, so I stopped taking them immediately.
After 3 years, we settled on 4 x Prednisolone 5 mg tablets and 2 x Mestinon 60 mg tablets per day, which is what I still take to this day.
I have recently joined 3 MG websites, but I am surprised how few patients seem to report that they have been prescribed the combination of Prednisolone and Mestinon tablets that I have been on for the last 4+ years.
