The Vicious Cycle: Battling Recurrent Infections with Myasthenia Gravis

Since receiving my Myasthenia Gravis (MG) diagnosis, I seem to catch every infection going, especially recurrent Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs).

I am currently in agony. This began with a severe viral infection involving intense sickness and diarrhea. I experienced really bad stomach pains around my belly button that lasted for eight and a half hours, leaving me completely exhausted and dehydrated. I was confined to bed for five days.

Escalation to kidney infection

Immediately following the virus, I developed a serious water infection (UTI) that did not respond to four courses of antibiotics. Now, the infection has progressed to my kidney, and I am in excruciating pain.

Searching for immune system support

This constant battle has led me to ask: is there anything we, as MG patients, can do to help our immune system so that we don't catch everything that comes along?
