Correct diagnosis

Well I just felt like I needed to inform the community of my following results. I tested positive twice from myasthenia gravis back in 2010. Antibody positive. Okay move forward having all the symptoms of myasthenia but testing negative for the rest of the years. Even went to northwestern University and had every test in the book done. Everything negative. I finally did genetic tests through a company because I really felt like I had to have some clarification about what's going on with me.
The following is very interesting;
I came up positive for Ehler's Danlos type 7A, Charcot Marie Tooth (whose symptoms are
much like Myasthenia it's unbelievable). I had begun to get numbness and tingling in my feet and up my legs to my knees. Thought this was strange and that just prompted me to do the genetic testing. Then this is very interesting, I have (6) genes that identify me as a carrier of Myasthenia Gravis. Had some other findings over very interesting and made appointments with my doctors to show them the results.

Everyone in this group has been extremely kind. I have appreciated all the words and wisdom and experience from everyone. I wish everyone nothing but the best. Try to remain positive. Getting a hot shower anytime you have a chance, always made me feel better. And try to have someone that you can talk to. It's so important to have someone understand what you're going through. Good thoughts, good prayers and thank you. Where is post

  1. Let me explain. I am a carrier of several MG genes. My children or grandkids may come up with this disorder. I just received an update, genetic update, stating I have the gene for Refractory Myasthenia Gravis. Now that was a new one on me. RMG is a rare autoimmune disorder that does not respond to treatment well. I'm taking these results to my neurologist and rheumatologist. Let's see what they think.

    1. didn't know there were genes that make you a potential MG carrier. Simply thought MG was an adverse reaction of the immune system which caused your body to react negatively to a virus (just a bad luck of the draw, like cancer). Learned something new....

      1. What a journey you've been on. Thank you so much for checking back and best of luck with everything.
