I have had symptoms of myasthenia for over 20 years, I saw 7 different neurologists including two at the Mayo Clinic (over 20 years ago)
I was misdiagnosed numerous times, I responded to the treatments for myasthenia but after several tests was told that I didn’t have it because I didn’t have the antibodies in my blood.
At one point I was on prednisone 60 mg for 3 years, it controlled my symptoms but gave me sugar diabetes and glaucoma.
One day I was looking at a group chat and read a comment that said “You have to be your own advocate!”
I started reading and learned about seronegative myasthenia.
Now I know what I have and have approached my Dr and learned what I can and cannot do.
Don’t give up and don’t be afraid to be your own advocate!
