are my symptoms a sign of having MG after having a thymectomy?

I have had a thymectomy on 4/29/24 a tumor was found on a cat scan for something not regarding MG it was stage 1 cancer which needed no follow up except for cat scans every 6-9 months follow up but lately I have noticed my eyelid is drooping and when I sleep I am awaken by my head and neck leaning on my shoulder bone and my teeth are not lined up it takes just seconds for them to reline to the normal position but I have never had this before could this be a symptom of MG?

  1. All the evidence suggests that if you have a thymoma on your thymus gland then you have mg. I had a thymectomy in april 2021 and have been in remission ever since with no symptoms at all. I still take mestinon and mycophenolate but live a normal and active life and hit the gym four times a week. In my experience it is important to find a doctor or neurologist who knows what he or she is talking about. It is my opinion that there are doctors who havent a clue when it comes to dealing with mg. My own doctor freely admits that i am the only case she has ever come across. Best of luck

  2. I had a similar situation in 2017 they discovered a Thymoma and Right Upper Lobe Tumor. In early 2018 I had a Thymectomy and Right Upper Lobectomy. Then in 2021, I had double vision and muscular weakness and was diagnosed with Ocular and Skeletal MG (GMG). I have read thymectomy is a first line of treatment for GMG, but when has already had the thymus removed, what is the connection?

  3. I had incidental finding of thymoma a on December 3, 2020 when I had CT of my heart to rule out calcification in arteries. I had no signs of myasthenia. However, 7 weeks after the thymus removal, stage 1, I started some MG symptoms. Couldn’t chew and swallow, breathing issues. 2 visits to ER until they figured out it’s MG given my recent surgery. Then my symptoms got worse. Drooping of eye, arm and leg weakness. It was MG crisis.

  4. I thought it was just me. I find in the morning that my bottom denture doesn't line up like it should. I am very leery of attending dentistry as I have developed a very touchy swallowing ability. Dread the idea of someone putting a suction in my mouth as I already feel like I am choking.
