MG

I was diagnosed 16 months ago. I am 78 now. Is this a progressive disease? My mom had Parkinson's disease. My brother developed the same disease along with diabetes. My mom had both diseases. I know that genetics is involved in the transmission of diseases. I am truly grateful I do not have diabetes. Not as of yet. MG, so far, has been manageable. A lot of eye twitching. Some arm and leg weakness. The breathing part is scary. Right now it is okay. Thank God!

  1. Hi Evie. I'm glad you are doing okay. We can all experience periods of elevated symptoms, but it is not really progressive like Parkinsons. There's not much evidence that MG has any genetic component or runs in families. But who knows?
I hope you have a good neurologist and are taking your meds. Best of luck.
