MG and PD

I happen to have MG and PD at the same time. It's sometimes hard to determine which to blame for some symptoms. I started to take MG meds and it helped with the strength of my limbs but did nothing for my Ptosis. My Ptosis can be very severe in my home or in a car (passenger) or in bright sun light. But in most cases at restaurants or doctors office its much better. Various stimuli can make a major difference, Hard to treat something so sporadic. I am seeing a neuro-ophthalmologist but hes so busy it takes 3-4 months just so he can prescribe eye drops that don't work.

  1. Thank You for your reply. Yes, 3 times/day 60 mg. Started September 15. I started to lose weight, from 195 lbs down to 175 lbs in less then 2 months but since the meds I have leveled off at 180 lbs. I am guessing it was due to muscle loss. But my eyes have completely changed my life since 2022. No driving, no kayaking, no volleyball, and no dating. A lot can be also blamed on PD due to bad balance. I just turned 60 and feel like I am 80.

    1. Wow, Jon, what a one-two punch. You seem to be taking it well, though, and doing the right things. Long waits for a neuro are par for the course. Have you taken Mestinon (pyridostigmine?)
