MY EXPERIENCE WITH OMG IS IMPROVING

Male age 93 in perfect health and condition. However, I had a very low blood count and my doctor sent me to a specialist who implanted a Pacemaker on 12/2/2025. All went well except when I woke up I had double vision. I called my cardiologist and talked to a nurse or nurse's assistant, who said she had never heard of this, asking another nurse who said the same. About 2 weeks later another nurse from the same office called and said I should go to the emergency room, as could have had a stroke. (6-hour wait). They did a cat scan of my head/neck area - all OK. He gave me about 4 or 5 81mg. aspirins and sent me home.

I went to my eye doctor who maid a pair of prism glasses. They worked perfectly for about a week only, so my eye doctor made a second pair of prism glasses. These lasted for 2 or 3 days, so he made a 3rd pair of prism glasses that did not work at all, remarking that my vision was changing rapidly. Evidently he had never heard of MG or OMG. This process took about 3 or 4 weeks. By then, my double vision was almost gone.

Luckily I had previously made an appointment with the Cleveland Clinic and was diagnosed at having Myasthenia Gravis, sending me to another specialist at the Cleveland Clinic who tested my muscles and leg and arm strength. This doctor was an MG specialist and doctor of the year for 4 or 5 years. (Great). He said that I had a very light case of Ocular Myasthenia Gravis. (Appropriately 'OMG"). I asked him he was going to prescribe medication. He asked, "Do you want any medication?" I replied "Not if I can help it," so he gave me his business card and told me to contact him if any changes.

This was about 6 month's ago and no change, other than needing 9-10 hours sleep. No double vision and no other symptoms. Now I am wondering if I even have OMG, or is it in remission? I do use a cane sometimes, and we installed many grab bars in our home that really help. My family doctor told me, 'Don't fall - you will break" So far, so good.

I have no other symptoms. My vision is perfect - I passed my Ohio Drivers Renewal without even wearing glasses. No double vision. I avoid driving at night and have voluntarily limited my day time driving to just a few miles, We have a family business and I stop in 2 or 3 afternoons a week to help out a bit. I also have an office in my home (4 miles from work). I do a lot of bookkeeping from home, developing Excel Spreadsheets and other business-related projects. I am wondering if any others have had similar experiences.
