My expierence with surgery

I feel I need to report what happened to me this week during a surgical procedure. I have always.been sensitive to anesthesia, however this time was very different. When the nurses were trying to wake me I completely heard their instructions but was unable to open my eyes or to move anything. Not toes, hands. Nothing was working except shallow breathing. I could hear my daughter telling them about the myesthenia. Finally one nurse crushed a mestanone pill and mixed with apple sause. I could.not swallow. Sips of water drained down my checks. It took almost 3 hours for me to be able to open my eyes. Then slowly the right side started working, finally left hand. Very scary episode. None of the nurses or 2 surgeons had operated on a myesthenia patient. Mind you I have had 6 surgeries and nothing like this ever happened. Has anyone else experienced this

  1. I am doing better. No more MG episodes just pain from procedure. Extreme fatigue but kind of expected that. I do pray that my experience is not the norm with anesthesia . I certainly do not wish that on anyone else.

  2. Thank you for sharing your experience. I am so sorry that happened, and can't imagine how scary that was for you. I am glad your daughter was there to tell them about your MG. How are you doing now?
