Ocular MG

I was just diagnosed with MG my symptoms are double vision and my eyeballs going to the left. My eyeball literally goes halfway inside my head. Hard to explain. It effects my everyday life. I can't drive because things appear closer, double vision seeing 2 instead of one

  1. yeah i was driving with one eye closed for quite a while, simply because i wasn't on the correct meds yet. pyridostigmine worked great at first until i got hives all over my body, and my primary put me on 5 mg of prednisone which did nothing, your body produces about 7-8 grams on its own, 5mg just means you body drops down to producing 2-3 and using the 5 you give it. For me 25mg prednisone did the trick and i have not had double vision since. But I eventually got other issues and had to take more prednisone and various other meds. You see those adds where this drug has side effects of x, y, z, p, d and q, and I went on and off several drugs until I found a mix that worked for me. It is a journey but you will get there.

    1. I'm so sorry, but help is on the way. You are newly diagnosed, and it is the worst possible time. A good doctor will eventually get your symptoms stabilized on meds and you will do much better. I also could not see well enough to drive when I was first diagnosed. Now I drive every day. I have no eye droop and no double vision. For me, pyridostigmine was the solution, followed a few months later by azathioprine. It's really hard in the beginning, and many meds take a long time to work. We all feel for you. You can be confident it will get better.

      1. Im sorry you're experiencing this, sadly I aswell have a lot of double vision, blurry vision and random eye movements where I look up or roll my eyes.
I hope youll find a way to do the small things in life again! x
