ptosis improvement through Levator advancement surgery?

I have had generalized MG for 17 years and after years of going up and down on prednisone for ptosis I am considering having an eyelid lift surgery, called levator advancement surgery. They go in through the back of the eye lid and cut and shorten the Mueller muscle. I know it may not completely get rid of the drooping but I was told it could significantly help. Has anyone done this surgery? with what results? And if so, did you do general Anesthesia or not? I have 2 different occuplastic surgeons and one is telling me I don't need General Anesthesia and the other is telling me I do.
