What medical testing is OK if you have gMG?

Orthopedic specialist is wanting to do multiple tests to evaluate several issues. These include MRI, nerve conduction tests, mylogram with dye, etc. Can't find internet sites that discuss medical testing.

  1. Hi , I've shared some articles below on testing. Please let me know if this is the kind of information you are looking for! Others may jump in to share their personal experiences with testing as well. Hope this helps thinking of your sister! Best, Lauren (Myasthenia-Gravis.com Team)

    1. Sorry, guess I was not clear. It's my sister who has had gMG for about 10 yrs. Her neurologist only manages her muscle strength and myasthenia meds. He has done no tests other than blood tests. She had extensive spinal surgery on top of her first MG crisis and is now having pain, spasms, and what seems to be other nerve issues, thus the orthopaedist.

      1. My neuro did MRI cervical spine, MRI brain, CT scan chest (thymoma check), plus every blood test known to man, lol. I've not heard of seeing an orthopedic specialist for gMG - it's usually a neuromuscular specialist. Have you been officially diagnosed? Are you seropositive or negative?
