Why is Armodafinil prescribed?,Can it affect sleep?

After researching the topic, I got to know that armodafinil is often prescribed by doctors for a variety of reasons. From what I’ve read, armodafinil is used to treat excess daytime sleepiness caused by such conditions as narcolepsy, obstructive sleep apnea, and shift work sleep disorder. If it promotes wakefulness, is it possible that it can cause sleep problems as well?
