How do you experience breathing problems?

Hi, I was hoping you could share what breathing problems feel like for you.
For me, it's mostly feeling a pressure on my chest and lightheadedness/feeling like I'm about to faint.
But I don't experience anything like wheezing or appearing out of breath or something like that. This makes it difficult for me to search medical help for it, since it's all just 'feelings' instead of actual visible signs of breathing weakness/difficulties. Sometimes I randomly start sighing deeply, other times it feels more like my urge to breathe just becomes almost absent?
Is this familiar to any of you?
Thanx in advance 😀

  1. I’m always short of breath, even while resting. I can’t lie flat. I need non-invasive ventilation at night and most of the time also a few hours during the day. I’m in chronic respiratory failure with low oxygen and high CO2. To me, this is the worst part of the myasthenia. To be honest, it’s ruining my life.

  2. I have no breathing issues now
About 5 years ago I have issues
But none for the last 2 years
My sympathies to those who do
I take very limited medication & now see Dr rarely

  3. My chest feels very heavy and I can’t get a good breath of air. Makes me feel light headed and tired. This happens whenever I overdo even a little bit. I have to be very careful about when and how I do things now. Over exertion happens before I even realize that I’m overdoing things.

  4. I have difficulty breathing when I try to carry something heavy for 100 ft or more. If I have a heavy bag of groceries, I'm out of breath by the time I get in to the kitchen. I recover quickly to make another trip to the car.

    1. My issues start with heavy breathing with any amount of activity. If I rest fairly quickly after exertion, I can rebound fairly easily. If I keep pushing and don’t rest I will rapidly progress to a point of almost gasping for air and am forced to sit and rest. Recovery is still fairly fast, but I fatigue more quickly once activity starts again.
