I have had pain in legs and feet prior to being newly diagnosed with MG. I have been seeing a neurologist for 15 years after my familyn physician thought I may have multiple sclerosis. After a thorough exam he dismissed MS and he said he thought I had a painless optic migraine. I really had no problems for years with this, but continued to have a yearly exam. In December of 2024 after having frequent slight drooling from my mouth and several episodes of short double vision, I told her I wanted an MRI (I am an older retired RN). After caring for my husband for 16 years after him having two strokes that left him with aphasia, right side weakness and occasional swallowing difficulties, he passed away in September of 2024. I thought maybe I was having a small stroke. She dismissed the pain in the legs and said I was older, but said she thought I may have MG. I did realize about six to eight months ago that I was only taking shallow breaths and started consciously making sure I did deep breathing every 2 to 3 hoursI So far it has helped. I am currently being treated with the generic mestonin. Looking back on my life, I do think I have had MG for quite awhile and many remissions! I have always been very aware of what is going on with my body. I am aware that I am fortunate and am able to weather this diagnosis pretty well so far. Sorry this is so long.
